Dave sent me a spreadsheet of the tagged trees in the arboretum. This database not only has the location, the common and latin names, but also a column for a photo url -- which lo and behold is a live link!! Cool. For the first item I typed in the url http://mlra.org and automatically it became a live link.
I hadn't scrolled all the way to the right on the database. Turns out that column H is the column for a photo and that every row of column K provides a link to the arboretum page of the administration site. http://www.medfordleas.org/arboretum.htm
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how the spreadsheet is used by the Landscaping staff in a way that the
repetition of the link is needed. Nor do I understand why column L appears to be truncated.
This morning I played with both spreadsheets. On the spreadsheet for Barton Arboretum Trees, the scientific name of a tree is now in red if that species is native to Burlington County.
ReplyDeleteOn the spreadsheet for Burlington County Native Plants the species is in red if we have the plant (only trees done so far) and I added 2 columns, Column B shows the number of tagged trees of that species, Column C is for links to photos.
I notice that the coordinates are missing for some of the tagged trees. So when these are added to original spreadsheet I'll need to update the one on Google Docs.
I also notice that only 2 of the Tulip Poplars are tagged. Why is that? Not needed?
